Saturday, 28 November, 2020 ‘Global Inclusion’ Online Day
We are pleased to collaborate with 5 partner SIGS to bring you a one-day online event exploring issues of inclusion in English Language Teaching. For details follow our website.
New collection of inclusive activities
The IP&SENSIG committee has been working with Delta Publishing to produce a collection of inclusive classroom activities that teachers can use throughout the school year, from welcoming new students to assessing their progress fairly. As part of their Ideas in Action series, ‘Activities for Inclusive Language Teaching‘ is available from the Delta Publishing website.
Inclusion in ELT: a discussion
12.00 (UK time) on Wednesday 4 November
To celebrate the publication of this collection of inclusive activities, Delta Publishing has set up an online seminar in which Anne Margaret Smith and Laura Broadbent (series editor of ‘Bloggers‘) will talk about inclusion in the ELT classroom today, and some of the problems and issues learners face today. They will also answer a selection of questions regarding issues of inclusivity, and breaking down barriers in order to motivate and inspire learners. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions to ask. (Also include a brief background of your teaching environment such as class size, age, levels and abilities.)
Look out for the link on our social media platforms to watch the seminar live.
On Friday, 11 and Saturday, 12 September 2020 we had a great online event with the Association of Teachers of English of the Czech Republic (ATECR) – ‘No Limits’. You can find the recordings in our members’ resources on the IATEFL website. Log in to your account on the IATEFL website, choose ‘My Resources’ – ‘SIG Resources’ and select Inclusive Practices and SEN SIG to see the list of available videos.
