April 2020 update

Committee members

Rom Neves (Secretary) and Anna Pires (Newsletter Editor) are officially stepping down from the IP&SENSIG committee this month (though not disappearing from our SIG entirely, we hope!). We are extremely grateful to them for their work, especially to Rom who is a founder member of the SIG.

However, we are delighted to welcome Aysen Deger as our new Secretary, and Maha Hassan as our new Newsletter Editor. See our website for more information.

We are also still looking to fill the role of Website Manager, so if you are comfortable with basic web design (WordPress) and would like to volunteer with us, we would love to hear from you.

IATEFL online event 18 – 19 April 2020
The face-to-face events planned for the 54th IATEFL Annual Conference have all been postponed till we meet in Harrogate in March 2021.  However, IATEFL is putting on an online event on the weekend of Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th April 2020.
IP&SENSIG is teaming up with YLTSIG, LitSIG, MaWSIG and GISIG to run a panel entitled: ‘Inclusive ELT materials: principles for design, selection and use’.

This session will run at 13.15 (UK time) on Saturday 18th April. For details on our upcoming events, please check our website here.

TESOL Spain Online mini-conference
Anne Margaret Smith and Rachael Harris will be representing the IP&SENSIG at TESOL Spain’s 1st online conference, taking place on May 9th  (09.00 – 20.45  Spanish time). More information is available from the TESOL Spain website.

Global survey
We would be grateful if you could take a moment to complete this member survey on Inclusive Practices around the world. Please complete it referring your habitual working patterns, rather than to recent changes.

Through April and May we are running another mini-campaign on social media – this time on the topic of implementing inclusive practices in online teaching and learning.

Find us on social media: on twitter @IPSENSIG and facebook IATEFL IP&SENSIG and please share your resources and suggestions at #IPSENChat

Newsletter We are currently collecting articles for the 6th edition of our newsletter, which will come out in the middle of the year. If you would like to write for us, please visit our website to find out more.
