Three years after setting up this SIG, it is time for the acting committee to step down so that a new committee can be elected. The call for has gone out to all IP&SEN SIG members for nominations to the posts of
Coordinator Treasurer Secretary Events coordinator
Social Media coordinator, Newsletter editor, Web manager
There is also the possibility of electing two ‘committee members without portfolio’, to support the communications team. Of course, some of the roles could be carried out by two joint post-holders, too.
If you would like to be part of this team, please get in touch by email at email@example.com and tell us where your interests lie – all expressions of interest are very welcome.
If you are attending the IATEFL conference in Liverpool at the beginning of April, this will be a great opportunity to have a chat with existing committee members to find out more about what the roles involve. You will find us on Stall 3 (ELT well) in the exhibition hall, or come along to our SIG open forum from 14.15 – 15.30 in Room 14 – part of our SIG Showcase on Wednesday 3 April.
In order to stand for a post, you need to:
a) be a current member of IATEFL IPSENSIG,
b) be proposed and seconded by other members of the SIG,
c) sign the nomination form and provide your IATEFL membership number
d) provide a personal statement of between 100 to 150 words explaining your reasons for standing, what you hope to achieve and contribute in the position you are applying for, and why you think you should be chosen. Please include information in the statement of all other professional affiliations they hold and possible conflicts of interest (eg. if you are already working for another SIG, IATEFL Committee or an institution).
All nomination forms should be sent to IATEFL, by 12pm UK time Sunday 14 April 2019. In the case of more than one candidate for each position, elections will take place between 17 – 24 April 2019 through online voting administered by IATEFL.
